Over a period of 30 years, Lindsay Stanley has worked as a winemaker, with the likes of Neville Wilson at Kaiser Stuhl and Max Schubert, the creator of the famed Grange Hermitage, firstly undergoing an apprenticeship and later as a winemaker.
Lindsay decided to take these invaluable years of experience and put them into his own wines in 1991. This was the birth of the Thoroughbred Cabernet which, when released in 1994, won the prestigious Cuno Pacific Trophy for the best medium bodied dry red at the Barossa Valley Wine Show. Other successes have followed with subsequent Thoroughbred Cabernets, like the John Hancock Shiraz, and the Full Sister Semillon.

The range of Stanley Brothers wines does not stop there, however. Other outstanding wines include the Pristine Unwooded Chardonnay, the Sylvaner, the Grenache, the Black Sheep Malbec Merlot and Tawny Port.
Stanley Brothers is located on Murray Street, at the north end of Tanunda. This thoroughfare is also known as Barossa Valley Way, as it takes visitors from the south all the way through the region. This location is right for Stanley Brothers and right for visitors as it enables easy access for consumers to taste and purchase the fine range of wines available.
